Arts and Writing Competition

 


THEME: Working Together for Justice

Think about an injustice or inequality that you see in your community. What people and resources do you have around you that can help to address the problem? How can your talents facilitate teamwork to overcome the injustice?

Artwork, Poetry, Essay or Song

 

Requirements: Art work: Paper size not larger than 12" x 18"

                         Essay, poem or song: Not longer than 2 pages

 

Deadline: Entries must be received by February 12, 2010. Include name, address, phone, email, age, and school

Cash prizes and gifts will be awarded Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the New Haven People's Center, 37 Howe Street during the 35th Annual African American History Month Celebration, sponsored by the People's Weekly World.
