Unite For Sight® is a 501(c)(3) non-profit global health delivery organization that empowers communities worldwide to improve eye health and eliminate preventable blindness. Since its inception at Yale 10 years ago, Unite For Sight has served 1,000,000 patients, sponsored over 35,000 sight-restoring surgeries, and trained 7,100 fellows worldwide. Unite For Sight's chapter at Yale looks forward to the opportunity to work with you.  Unite For Sight's chapter at Yale is one of more than 50 university chapters of Unite For Sight. Unite For Sight's chapter implements public health programs to eliminate preventable blindness locally and globally.  We train school teachers and community center staff to connect their students and clients with free health coverage programs so that they can receive a complete eye exam by an eye doctor.  Additionally, we fundraise to provide eye care to patients living in extreme poverty in Ghana, Honduras, and India.

This year, Unite For Sight's Yale Chapter will embark on multiple new, exciting projects. We will hold community outreach programs in order to increase awareness and promote eye health and the elimination of preventable eye disease among managers and staff at free clinics in the New Haven area. We will work with New Haven local restaurants and businesses on multiple fundraising projects. For pre-medical students, our Chapter has also established a physician shadowing program for undergraduate students to learn medicine firsthand in physicians' clinics.
