Yale Schola Cantorum, the University's acclaimed chamber choir directed by Simon Carrington, will bring its Chiaroscuro: Venetian Vespers, Savage Altars, Flashing Water concert to New York as part of the Concerts at Saint Thomas Series. The program will contrast old and new in dramatic juxtaposition, with music by Monteverdi and his contemporaries interspersed with music by two Yale faculty composers: Ingram Marshall's Savage Altars for choir, soloists, tape, and violin and viola obbligato; and Joan Panetti's To the Flashing Water say: I am, the second of two Rilke settings written for Schola and chamber ensemble.
