In line with our mandate to bring creative arts folk together, YAAMNY Arts/Entertainment is planning a series of performance parties. We have secured the use of a large pleasant space in Brooklyn, complete with a piano, excellent PA system - and inexpensive food and drink, and will hold an organizational meeting and tryouts for our first Performers' Round-up on Saturday, February 13th. If you want to participate in the round-up, please join us on for this meeting and be ready to give us a sample of what you can do. Performers must limit themselves to 10-12 minutes.
The actual YAAMNY Arts Performers' Round-Up will be in April, details to be posted on the YAAMNY website soon. After the performance there will be time for informal networking. And you don't have to be on stage to come to the performance; just be ready to enjoy yourself and meet alumni/ae in all the arts, all ages, all stages of their careers.
Please notify me ASAP ( This email address is hidden from email harvesters via JavaScript ) if you will be joining us on February 13 for try-outs, and tell me what type of performer you are.

FELA! on Broadway
Enter the extravagant, decadent, rebellious world of a legendary musician. A provocative hybrid of dance and Broadway musical, FELA! features the Afrobeat music of Fela Anikulapo Kuti, a book by Jim Lewis and the direction and choreography of Tony Award winner Bill T. Jones.
His Passion Ignited a Generation.
His Music Fueled a Revolution.
His Legacy Inspires the World.
FELA! uses stirring Afrobeat music (a blend of jazz, funk and African rhythm and harmonies), to tell the story of Kuti's controversial life as artist, political activist and revolutionary musician. Featuring many of Fela Kuti's most captivating songs and Bill T. Jones's visionary staging, FELA! is the most original new musical on Broadway. Come for the music. Come for the dancing. Come awaken your soul.
Special thanks to producer Stephen Hendel '73!
