"Unique Opened" and "Open Rate" under represent the number of unique recipients because they count only successful pings to our servers. Blackberries, text only readers and all mail readers where the user does not select "download pictures" are not counted.

Total opened includes every time the email is opened and read. Our experience is the actual number of readers is somewhere between "Unique" and "Total" and the actual open rate is at least 50% higher than the reported "Open Rate".

This site has two ways of recognizing members, with email/name insecure authentication and stronger email/password authentication.

Any time you make a new post or click on the "manage my subscriptions" from an email, you are logged into this website insecurely, by using your email and full name only.

This easy and insecure way of logging in is available to let users post easily, without setting a password and also to allow a user to easily manage subscriptions from email newsletters without requiring a complicated password setup process.

Email/name combinations for many people are easy to guess, however, such as John Doe and john.doe@xyzcompany.com.

We therefore restrict what can be done with this insecure authentication.

To login securely you will need to relogin using a secret password in addition to your email address. This password can only be discovered by using the main email address we have on file with your user account.

Instructions login securely and to set or reset your password can be found here.

logout by pressing logout in the top left of the screen next to your name (or press login securely once this is implemented)
