            <description><![CDATA[<p>The YAAMNY Public Service /  Social Justice Committee is committed to promoting public service while fostering and strengthening alumni relations. </p>
<p>Thus, we are asking alumni for proposals and news about your activites that incorporate the need for volunteers to promote public interest and social justice initiatives in the area. In addition to helping promote awareness of the many independent efforts of local alums, we plan to help, support and manage selected projects each month.</p>
<p>Our goal is to focus on monthly projects that enable YAAMNY members, friends and families to volunteer in a range of activities from the laborious to more intellectually stimulating. </p>

<ul><li><font size="4">Facilitate and create opportunities for alumni to gather, exchange ideas and launch programs for life-long learning;</font></li>
    <li><font size="4">Maintain the online center for communication and promotions open to all alumni communities in New York and their diverse enterprises and creative endeavors; </font></li>
    <li><font size="4">Deploy Internet tools to facilitate collaboration among YAAMNY leaders and other Yale volunteers in New York;</font></li>
    <li><font size="4">Support and develop opportunities and programs for our membership to serve our communities and the public interest; </font></li>
    <li><font size="4">Partner with AYA on programmatic, operational and communications initiatives in our continued pursuit of Yale's mission in the world.</font></li>
