In light of the recent presidential election in Haiti, the planned reconstruction in Haiti is at a critical point. 

To better understand the current landscape, the Haiti Assistance Task Force of the Public Service/Social Justice Committee will be presenting this panel discussion regarding development in Haiti in partnership with the Educational Programs Committee and the YWCA.  

The panelists, who are all practitioners in their respective fields, will provide an in-depth look at the successes and failures of development initiatives in Haiti, including microfinance ventures, private investment, U.S.-based nonprofit work, and sustainable design projects. The panelists are as follows: 

  •  James Kurz, Senior Financial Analyst at Fonkoze
  •  Alice Min Soo Chun, Chair and Co-Founder of Studio Unité 
  •  Rene Aubry, Founder and CEO of Ciel Capital Partners
  •  Joseph Makhandal Champagne, Executive Team Member of The Haiti Project, Global Syndicate, Mayor of Toms River, New Jersey, and President of the National Haitian-American Elected Officials Network
