Artlog brings people and information together to enrich the experience of art. It gives users easy access to resources that were previously inaccessible, unaffordable, and/or disconnected. Artlog provides tools to facilitate communication and to create new social ties both online and offline.
Launched in January 2008, Artlog is a free, open platform for artists, art professionals, art enthusiasts and regular folks. The platform combines social networking, directory services and user-generated content.
Key features currently include: an easy to browse directory of events, museums, galleries and artists; user forums; messaging; neighborhood guides; a free job board; user blogs; image, video and sound sharing. The Artlog staff highlights exhibitions, openings, parties and lectures in its weekly calendar. Additionally, Artlog organizes offline events for its members (happenings).
