Yale Students of AMF

Students of AMF

We your peers are starting the support network Students of AMF for students coping with the death or illness of any loved one (family member to friend). Dealing with a loss during college can be very difficult, since we students have academic pressures and are away from home, family, and old friends. And as you can probably imagine, social interactions at Yale don't exactly facilitate sharing such personal, intimate stories. Few students are willing to talk about the depressing topics of death and grief, but there is a remarkably sizeable, silent Yale student population coping.

The organization includes: 1) a peer-led Support Group for students who are coping with the illness or death of a loved one to get together to talk about their issues and receive peer support, 2) a Service Group open to all students to go to service events together the area to raise money and awareness for important causes, and 3) opportunities for faculty members to serve as mentors to support group member.

Yale Students of AMF will be a chapter of a national organization, which already has 24 campus chapters across the country. For more information visit www.studentsofamf.org.

Get involved:

·         Join our Facebook group Yale Students of AMF

·         E-mail Tatum Bell ( This email address is hidden from email harvesters via JavaScript ) if you want to be involved in establishing the chapter or if you want to participate when its running.

·         Please help spread the word about Students of AMF to students who may be interested.
