It's gorgeous outside, which is the perfect reason to get out of the library or your dorm room and attend some of the FANTASTIC EVENTS LISTED BELOW. This week is simultaneously National Public Health Week, hosted by the Public Health Coalition, and Children's Week, hosted by UNICEF.

Are you in New Haven for the summer? Would you like to engage in a dynamic service activity that is close to campus at that can fit in with your other summer commitments? Would you like to gain or build upon your leadership experience? 
 
If your answer to these questions is "yes," consider applying for the Coordinator position of the Wednesday Lunchtime Summer Soup Kitchen. The WLSSK was established in the summer of 2008 to distribute bag lunches to the homeless on Wednesday afternoons, and brings together a group of student volunteers and other community members.

International Festival of Arts & Ideas Seeks Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for New Fellowship Program

The International Festival of Arts & Ideas is seeking an undergraduate student to serve as an intern with the Arts & Ideas Fellowship Program.  The program will give economically disadvantaged teens exposure to careers in the arts and various arts disciplines and will teach critical thinking and writing skills.  The undergraduate intern will support in the administration of the program as well as serve as a mentor to students as they progress through the program.

 
This is a paid opportunity with a part-time commitment during May 2010 and a full-time commitment during June 2010.  The selected intern will also be invited to participate in orientation and group activities for the Dwight Hall at Yale Summer Fellowship program.
