The Education Programs Committee of the Yale Alumni Association of Metropolitan New York (YAAMNY), in collaboration with the Arts & Entertainment Committee, presents a visit to Yale University for special group tours of two stellar exhibitions:

"Picasso and the Allure of Language" at the Yale University Art Gallery (YUAG) &
 "Endless Forms: Charles Darwin, Natural Science and the Visual Arts" at the Yale Center for British Art (YCBA).

"Picasso and the Allure of Language" examines language's influence on Picasso from 19 to 91. "Endless Forms" documents the interconnections between Darwin's theories and 19th century art. The Picasso exhibition tour will be conducted by Susan Greenberg Fisher, the Horace W. Goldsmith Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art. The Darwin exhibition tour will be conducted by a Senior Docent.

Participants will meet at the central clock at Grand Central Terminal at 100 East 42nd Street at 9:45 a.m. sharp on Saturday, April 4th, 2009. We will travel together via Metro-North to New Haven, Connecticut. We will proceed to the Yale University Art Gallery for a tour of the Picasso exhibition at YUAG followed by a tour of the Darwin exhibition at the YCBA.  The tours will conclude by approximately 2:45 p.m. 

All participants will cover their own meal expenses and transportation fees ($28 for MetroNorth round trip to New Haven, plus taxi fare in New Haven). While we will travel to New Haven and to each exhibition together, participants will be free to return to New York City as a group or make their own post-event travel plans.
