Would you like to help New Haven public school students enter and succeed in college? Do you have an hour a week to spare this semester? If so, then join College Acceptance, and mentor a high school senior at New Haven public high school located close to Yale's campus.
College Acceptance pairs Yale students with high school students to help them with college applications, and tutor them on their writing, test taking and grammatical skills. With your help, we can provide disadvantaged students with the same resources as students in more affluent neighborhoods - and it only takes one hour a week. This mentorship is a great way to get involved in the community, and it is so fulfilling to help a student get into college. This is also a great way to do something outside of the walls of Yale, and meet students from across the University.
Every day high school students in New Haven deal with inadequate resources in their quest to go to college. Now it's time to give these students an opportunity to succeed.
If you are interested in joining the group and want to learn more about this opportunity, please come to our info meeting on September 22, Tuesday, at 8:30 p.m. in Room 122 in the Law School Building. If you are interested but cannot make it to the meeting, please email Sam Duprey at
