New Haven 1 of 1,900 venues in 145 countries calling for action on Oct. 24 to solve the climate crisis
As part of the International Day of Climate Action, New Haven is holding an event on the Lower Green from 2-4 p.m. featuring information tables, music, bell ringing, a bike ride, and, at 3:50 p.m., a human 3-5-0 will take shape, to be photographed from the air and displayed on the 30-foot screens at Times Square in New York City. The photo will also be given to our states Congressional delegation, urging Congress and the Obama administration to take strong action to reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere to 350 parts per million the level which scientists say is the safe upper limit for carbon in our atmosphere in order to avoid massive climate change.
