The New Haven chapter of Architecture for Humanity will host a screening of the film "One Peace at a Time" at BAR (254 Crown St, New Haven) on February 11th at 6.30pm as a benefit for Architecture for Humanitys efforts to rebuild Haiti.  A requested $10 donation will be collected at the door. All proceeds will go to Architecture for Humanity's Haiti Reconstruction Appeal. The event is sponsored by Centerbrook Architects and BAR restaurant.

One Peace at a Time, a feature documentary by director Turk Pipkin, highlights solutions to some of the world's most pressing problems.  Pipkin went on a five-continent, two-year search for a better way ahead and for the answer to one basic question: Can we provide basic rights -- water, nutrition, education, healthcare, and a sustainable and peaceful environment -- to every child on earth? The film includes the insights of Nobel Peace laureate Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Physicist Steven Chu, (Barack Obama's Secretary of Energy), Dr. Helene Gayle (CEO of CARE, International), American music legend Willie Nelson, and others.
The solutions Pipkin chronicles include the model Indian orphanages of The Miracle Foundation, family planning initiatives with Thailand's Mechai Viravaidya, Ethiopian water projects with A Glimmer of Hope, and Architecture for Humanity's global design challenge for communities in need.
