Yale Day of Service Post Reception Saturday, May 15, 5:00 pm 7:00 pm Each year, the global Yale Day of Service organizes over 3,500 members of the Yale community to participate in volunteer projects in nearly 170 sites in forty states and twelve countries. Great work is completed in soup kitchens, parks, homeless shelters, schools, and more, all because members of the Yale community are committed to making a difference in their respective communities. This year the Yale Club of New York City will host a reception in the Tap Room to recognize this important tradition and the members that participate. Walk into the reception for $10 cash per person for tasty hors doeuvres, a cash bar, and a chance to catch up with other volunteers. The Yale Club will relax the dress code to casual attire for Day of Service Post Reception attendees. Jeans and sneakers will be permitted within the Tap Room and at the concert in the Lounge following the reception.
Concert with Sing for Hope Saturday, May 15, 7:30 pm After enjoying the post reception in the Tap Room, join us for this gratis concert in the Main Lounge. The talented 18th Street Singers from Washington, DC and New Yorks Manhattan Choral Ensemble will partner to perform as the concluding event. Featuring performances by distinguished Yale alumni in the performing arts, the concert is an effort to raise funding and awareness for Art U!, an organization that provides arts and leadership education to New York Citys underserved youth. Reservations for the concert are not required. Donations to help support Sing for Hope are highly encouraged and will be accepted at the post reception as well.
