Universities Allied for Essential Medicines (UAEM) is a worldwide student organization working to improve access life-saving drugs in poor countries. Our Yale chapter works toward this goal by:
Working with Yales patent and licensing office to ensure that medicines developed at Yale are sold at affordable prices in the developing world Engaging in advocacy at the campus and national policy levels to generate the impetus for improved drug access provisions Lobbying universities and funding bodies increase research on neglected diseases - those that affect people too poor to attract private-sector R&D investment
UAEM is a great way to gain intimate exposure to global health activism while working with a passionate and diverse group of students. We welcome students from all schools at Yale, and are looking to increase our undergraduate membership in particular.
Please join us for a meeting / ice cream study break to learn more about how you can get involved. Additional Info/Contact: This email address is hidden from email harvesters via JavaScript |
