Bus Leaves from Phelps Gate
Join the Yale College Democrats, the Yale Public Health Coalition, as well as undergraduates and medical students from all across Connecticut at The Capitol Building in Hartford to lobby the legislature for health care reform on Friday, April 24. This is a rare opportunity to make a direct personal investment in an issue you care about. HB6600, a bill currently under consideration by the Connecticut State Legislature, would effectively phase in universal health coverage in Connecticut over a period of five years. It would also improve efficiency and effectiveness through pooling and preventative care. As students, we should be leading the fight to improve health coverage; after we graduate, many of us will be without insurance, an illness or an accident away from crippling debts. Connecticut can send a message to the nation that providing universal health care isn’t just a good idea—it’s our moral duty as a society. Please consider coming to Hartford to experience advocacy first-hand.
