The New York City Science and Engineering Fair administered through College Now at City University of New York, is looking for volunteer judges. Sponsored by the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) and The City University of New York, is the area's largest science, math, engineering, and technology research competition for high school students. NYCSEF provides a venue for the city's top young scientists and engineers to present their projects to a panel of judges and compete for a variety of prizes.
Its a really great opportunity to get involved in education and with some great students.
Please see the information below and the following website for more details and to apply.

We need your help in making the New York City Science and Engineering Fair memorable for some of the brightest high school investigators in the five boroughs. Each year, we receive hundreds of applications from public and private high school students throughout the five boroughs. From this submission pool, 550 students will display and demonstrate their science and technology projects in a preliminary round of competition, and about 150 at the final round. Approximately 20 students are selected to represent New York City at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in May.
We need more than 300 volunteer judges (scientists, engineers, teachers, and other professionals) to evaluate the presentation of the exhibits and the scientific or engineering processes at NYCSEF Your time commitment would only be a few hours either day.
If you are interested in judging at this years competition, please fill out and submit the online judge registration form at http://collegenow.cuny.edu/sciencefair/volunteer-to-judge/ .You will then be contacted by NYCSEF staff with information and details about participating in this years events. The 2010 NYCSEF Preliminary Round will be held on Sunday, March 7th, at The City College of New York (Manhattan) and the NYCSEF Finals Round on Tuesday, March 23rd at the American Museum of Natural History.
