Two members of Yale hockey's class of 2009 were selected in the 2005 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Defenseman Brennan Turner and forward Pat Brosnihan were picked on Sunday in the fifth and seventh rounds respectively. Turner, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound two-sport star from Winnipeg, Man., was the 134th pick in the fifth round by Chicago. Brosnihan, taken in the 212th slot with Phoenix's seventh-round pick, is a Worcester, Mass., native. Turner, a defensive defenseman who tallied five goals and 17 points last winter, earned a number of team awards while amassing 207 penalty minutes in 41 games in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for Notre Dame. In addition, he tallied 80 points over two seasons as a star rugby player for his high school squad. Brosnihan, listed at 6-foot-3, 208 pounds, was an All-New England forward at Worcester Academy. He registered 19 goals and 63 points in 27 games last winter. Brosnihan also competed in baseball and golf.
