This upcoming Sunday Im heading out west to the Delaware Water Gap to hike Mount Minsi, one of two peaks between which flows the eponymous river. The 5.7-mile, 886 ft vertical trail follows the Appalachian Trail if you have never hiked the AT, this is one of the most accessible sections and a dirt road back. Well take the 8:30 AM Martz Trailways bus from the Port Authority Bus Terminal, arriving at the Delaware Water Gap station at 10. The hike should take approximately four hours, and well take the 2:20 or 2:40 bus back, arriving at 3:50 or 4:25 PM, respectively. The cost of the hike roundtrip bus transportation is $63.50. You will need to bring your own food and water, as none are available near the trailhead. The trail is relatively shaded, but it should nevertheless be sunny & hot, so plan appropriately (sunscreen, sunglasses & hat).
