Dear Dwight Hall Cabinet Members and Group Treasurers:

To keep up with changes in the Dwight Hall Cabinet in recent years, the Financial Coordinator of the Student Executive Committee has adjusted the funding process in order to maximize the impact of our limited resources. Specifically, instead of receiving a check for the amount of funding allocated, groups will now be pre-approved for funding and then reimbursed upon submission of receipts to Dwight Hall. Under this system, groups will submit funding applications and first receive from the Financial Coordinator the amount of funding to be awarded, but only receive a check for the money up to the pre-approved amount based on the sum of the receipts submitted. If this will be difficult for you or your group, please contact the Financial Coordinator.

The $500 maximum on group allocations per semester has also been removed as our member groups differ dramatically in size and activity and therefore may require different levels of financial support. Instead, member groups may now submit an application for each event or project they pursue, though they may still also apply for general operating money. Multiple applications may be submitted by the same group, but each event or project must be submitted as a separate application. The objective of this change is not to create more work for groups, but rather to increase the accountability of the allocation process and to provide more support to our groups activities.
