Join Carrie HesslerRadelet, Deputy Director of the Peace Corps as she talks about the future of public health in relation to the Peace Corps. Carrie Hessler-Radelet began her public health career as a Peace Corps Volunteer in
Western Samoa back in 1981. In the next two decades she merged as an inspiring
global health leader playing a prominent role in the establishment of the Presidents
Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), assisting the Indonesian government in
designing and implementing the first national AIDS strategy, and founding the
Special Olympics in The Gambia. Prior to her role as the Deputy Director of the
Peace Corps, Ms. Hessler-Radelet served as the Vice President and Director of the
global health organization, John Snow, Inc. (JSI).
