TAKE 27 SECONDS, SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER WITH ABRAHAM'S TENT WEEK!

Participate in one of YHHAP's most exciting service projects! During the week of February 21-27, YHHAP will be hosting 12 homeless men in the parish house of Center Church on the Green, as part of a larger New Haven project, Abraham's Tent, designed to offer an intimate and positive shelter opportunity for its participants. Participants typically experience greater rates of success in finding housing following the program (of last year's 12 men, 10 are currently housed), and it's a very powerful, gratifying, and fun experience for volunteers.

Since the week will be entirely organized/staffed by student volunteers, we need YOU! There will be two shifts a day, requiring at least 7 volunteers in total: a dinner shift (preparing and serving) from 4-7 pm, and a night shift from 6 pm-6 am. Both offer a great opportunity to interact in really direct way and unique setting with the community that so many YHHAP projects serve. You can indicate all your availability the week of Feb 21-26, as well as the group with whom you'd like to volunteer, and we will try to set you up in the same shift.
