Children throughout the city of Newark are struggling to gain access to the skills and knowledge necessary to enter school ready to succeed and we need your help!

United Way recently contacted Yale to announce a fully supported ASB program in Newark NJ. Volunteers will work with children at local Boys & Girls clubs, childcare centers and other locations helping to enhance childrens educational experiences through direct service with kids, facilities improvements and the creation and distribution of literacy resource kits for pre-school aged children.

The cost of this program is $250 (as well as a $25 registration fee) and covers the following:

  • Transportation to and from the airport, train or bus station

  • All on-the-ground transportation throughout the service week

  • Lodging

  • 3 meals a day

  • Meaningful service projects

  • A week of fun and service with other passionate and civic minded young leaders

Program dates are March 6th-12th. (This program is being run each of the 4 weeks in March,so feel free to pass on to other students at other colleges and universities who might be interested.) We are also providing access to a really cool online fund-raising tool to help generate financial support from family and friends!
