Are you a freshman? Need plans before Camp Yale? FOCUS on New Haven is an end-of-summer, weeklong program designed to challenge rising sophomores to take a closer look at the city they are living in. This year's program will run from Friday, August 19th to Thursday, August 25th. FOCi meet with local leaders and examine controversial issues in immigration, education, politics, race, economic development, town-gown relations, and more; execute four-day group service projects; join a large network of friends; and reflect on their present and future roles in their communities. Educational panels and service projects introduce participants to new opportunities and empower students to continue to serve as active leaders in the city of New Haven and beyond. The program fee for FOCUS is $150, which includes activities, housing, and most meals. The program is generously subsidized, but additional financial aid will be offered on a need basis.
