Come to the LEAP Info Session 7 PM Tuesday at Dwight Hall For More Information Call or Email 203.773.0770 or This email address is hidden from email harvesters via JavaScript Senior Counselor Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: *Managing and mentoring a group of 8 children; *Planning and implementing reading-based curricula; *Planning and accompanying children on field trips and workshops; *Providing social and recreational activities that promote LEAP's Mission; *Communicating weekly with children's parents/guardians; *Attending scheduled meetings with Site Coordinator and Youth Development Staff; *Participating in LEAP training and Youth Development events; *Participating in career preparation/job readiness activities *Other responsibilities as defined by the Site Coordinator or LEAP Staff. Time Commitment: *15 hours per week (during the Academic Year Component) *Work a minimum of four days including mandatory Friday development sessions *A required week of training and on going workshops sponsored by LEAP departments Benefits: *Senior Counselors can earn up to $250.00 before taxes on a bi-weekly basis. * Qualify for a scholarship between $1000-$1800 after completing a term of service. LEAP is a youth development program whose mission is to develop the strengths and talents of young leaders who create and implement year-round, community-based programming designed to achieve positive academic and social outcomes for children, ages 7 to 12, living in high poverty, urban neighborhoods. We employ 60 counselors to serve 250 children throughout New Haven, CT.
