Currently, 4 billion people in the world own cell phones, including those in villages where healthcare is non-existent. What strategies can be applied to provide healthcare for the world's poorest people? This workshop is aimed at future leaders in global health who will gain skills and knowledge about global health delivery. The workshop will be a small, intimate forum with a limited capacity of no more than 10 participants. Applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis. YAAMNY Family Event: James Prosek (BR '97) on Bird, Butterly, Eel at Books of Wonder
The Yale Alumni Association of Metropolitan New York York (YAAMNY), in collaboration with coveted independent children's bookstore Books of Wonder, presents an evening with James Prosek (BR '97) on the wonders of the natural world on the occasion of his recent publication of Bird, Butterfly, Eel. Register today at: http://jamesprosekatbooksofwonder.eventbrite.com/. The talk and question and answer session will last from 6 to 6:45 p.m. followed by an informal reception. All are welcome including family and friends, and children of all ages. Pre-registration is required. Change is all around us. From the first buds of springtime to the first autumn frost, nature shows us that change is all around us and that the world has its own way of beginning anew. Bird, Butterfly, and Eel spend their summers on the same coastal farm, but in the fall they go to very distant and different places. Their journeys to the far reaches of land and sea make them remarkable creatures. James Prosek uses their stories and his own sun-kissed paintings to introduce young readers to the basic elements of bird, fish, and insect migration. Join us for a family-friendly program with Yale alumnus James Prosek on his recent children's book Bird, Butterfly, Eel. James will share not only Bird, Butterfly, Eel with the audience, but his insights from his other published books and resonant stories about observing nature, adventures out of doors, mentorship, publishing narratives and tales, and his education in and beyond the classroom. His talk will be enjoyed by children and adults alike. YAAMNY Public Service & Social Justice Committee Meeting
