The Manhattan Choral Ensemble will present an evening of French choral music for Christmas, featuring traditional French Christmas carols and works by Poulenc, Charpentier, Costeley, Mouton, and Dufay. Encompassing music from the medieval period to the present, the performance will evoke the rich compositional history of France as well as that expression of the spirit of Christmas uniquely French. Celebrate this joyful season with a concert of music at times delicate, at times exuberant, but always exquisite. The setting is one of New York's most beautiful churches with a long history of connection to the French culture, the perfect place to enjoy a choral experience like no other this December. Additional Info/Contact: Saint Jean Baptiste Catholic Church is on the corner of Lexington Avenue and 76th Street, one block from the 77th Street subway stop on the 6 line. The main entrance to the church is on Lexington Avenue. |
