YALE LATINOS: PROFESSIONAL ACTIVISTS
A one day symposium for Latino/a Alumni and Current Students.

Saturday, March 29th at La Casa Cultural

Professional: proˇfesˇsionˇal   pr-fesh-nl, -fe-sh-nl
noun  a person who is expert at his or her work
adj  following an occupation as a means of livelihood or for gain

Activist: acˇtivˇist   ak-ti-vist
noun  an especially active, vigorous advocate of a cause
adj  advocating or opposing a cause or issue vigorously

Yale Latino/as have never been afraid to take on the causes that matter most to them whether they be personal, local, or global in scope. As Latina/o Yalies we can continue to leverage the opportunities and resources we have available to us through our relationship with Yale in order to make positive changes in the world. As we do this, it is useful to remember that professionals need not stop being activists and activists always benefit from being professional (i.e. experts) in their endeavors. During this one day symposium Alumni and Current Students will have an opportunity to explore the relationship between professionalism and activism as well as the causes that are most critical to us as individuals but also as a growing and interconnected community.

Saturday, March 29th
