Platypi 10 Minute Play Festival Opens Tuesday, July 29th, 7pm. Merit Theater and Film Group & 13th Street Repertory Company have, for the past six years, held a summer internship program for between 25-40 interns from all over the world. Each year the interns create and produce their own show. This year, we are proud to present the Platypi 10 Minute Play Festival, featuring current Yalie Jerry Lieblich and Yale Alumnus Eugene Ashton-Gonzalez. The plays in the show were created in Terrence Patrick Hughes' Playwriting Workshop. Why Platypi? The platypus is a duck-billed, beaver-tailed, otter-footed egg-laying mammal! It appears to be many different animals blended together to create something rare. We have done the same by taking 10 very different plays and creating an exceptionally unique festival. TICKETS: Adults - $18; Seniors $15; Students $15 QUESTIONS: Sandra Norgen About the Merit Theater and Film Group & 13th Street Repertory Company Internship Program: Since 2003, between 25-40 interns attend our summer Internship Program at NYC's historic 13th Street Theatre, located in Greenwich Village. We offer internships in directing, acting, producing, script evaluation, stage managing, lighting/sound tech, arts administration, house managing, and more. Both 13th Street Repertory and Merit Theater and Film Group are dedicated to providing a caring, nurturing, professional environment in which to learn, grow, and perform.
