Dwight Hall and the Chaplain's Office will be welcoming a former Freedom Rider, Rev. Reginald Green, who is excited about meeting students and sharing his story. Green was arrested in Mississippi in 1961, when he was 21 years old, for participating in the rides meant to test the Supreme Court case that ruled racial segregation in public transportation illegal. He is in Connecticut to be a part of a New Haven Library sponsored event around a book and photographic exhibit about Freedom Riders and civil rights workers from the early 1960's.
